BASIC TOOTH ANATOMY
_____________________________________________________

Enamel
The hardest calcified tissue in the body, it
consist of enamel rods that are brittle and subject to disintergration and breakage by acid produced on the tooth surface by bacteria.

Dentin
Pain stimuli is transmitted through microscopic tubules found dentin, Each tubule contains a nerve fiber that penetrate the porous dentin.

Pulp Chamber
Terminating point of blood vessels and
nerve as they follow the path thru the Root Canal from the Root Apex. Stimuli is transmitted and received by the pulp.
Root
The root is that portion of the tooth that is in the alveolar bone. It is covered by a coat of material similar to bone called cemetum.
Root Apex
The entrance point of the nerve, blood vessels and connective tissue to the Root Canal that terminates at Pulp Chamber.
